If you've followed my blog at all you'll remember last year I got the best mothers day, birthday, christmas present...the awesome vw bug on the right side of the blog. It wasen't exactly street worthy at the time and so it has sat...and sat...for about a year and a half. Well, Trent,(hubs) decided he was getting it running for Christmas this year, only he's not much of a mechanic. Fortunately we have a great neighbor who is. It's not licensed yet, still needs lights and things but I was able to drive it around the block on Christmas day!! Anyway I'm getting to the dresser. Our neighbor won't take money, he just likes to help, so we are always on the lookout for something to do for him. He needed a load of trash taken to the dump so of course we volunteered. This sad little piece was loaded on the trash trailor. Poor thing. I had to ask if I could keep it. I think it was a taller dresser that had been cut in half or something. I'm still not sure. This is the kind of fixing I love!! Trent helped put on some legs and trim up the bottom. It's got some fun cracks in it giving it lot's of character. Definately one of a kind! And the moral of this story??? ... Don't wear flip flops to the dump!!!

Doll Cradle
Just in time for Christmas! What little girl wouldn't want their new baby doll in something so cute. It's very sturdy too for those little crawlers who think they need be inside with the little dolly :-) (Refinished cradle but all new material)

Vintage Jewely Box
I've seen a few of these fun old jewelry boxes online, but I've never come accross one until today. I have been so excited ha ha, everyone's tired of me talking and telling them about it. I'm pretty sure this goes along with the "french provincial" style furniture. Well, today just happens to be my daughter Emma's 12th birthday (no my name is not Emma :-) so this now belongs to her.

Happy Easter!
Hope everyone has had an awesome spring !
I love pinterest for holiday craft ideas. I found an awesome easy center piece I just had to do. (The carrots in the vase) These 2 things are the extent of my Easter decorations ha ha. The jars with the lambs was an idea from a magazine, I forget which one though, I put them on velcro and have different ornaments for each holiday. Notice they are empty...I've filled them twice in 2 days...the kids are enjoying it way to much.
I've just finished these awesome green doors with hooks for my bathroom, so sorry, they are not for sale :-) The color is awesome! I can't wait to hang them up.

Old Curio---sold
This is a very old cabinet. I tried hard to make it shiny and elegant but it just wasn't working. So sometimes you just have to go with the character of the piece, so that's what I did. Now it is AWESOME!! It's still elegant but in a different way :-) I made it "chippy" which is basically scraping off the paint instead of sanding which gives it an older look.

As you can see this dresser is very ornate. I love all the detail... perfect for a fancy entry. It's a grey/blue color...very elegant.

Fall foliage 2012
My sisters and I took my mom to Cedar Mountain today to see the fall foliage. It was so beautiful, I have to share.
I had way too much fun taking pix, this post would be way to long if I published them all....but I did put a few more in my "pages" to the right if you'd like to maybe check them out :-)

Long Dresser~~~SOLD
Wow, this dresser is striking!! I'm totally in love! You'll have to excuse my pictures. My short lense is still broken and my house is too small to get a big enough distance for my long lense...so you'll just have to piece it together in your minds ha ha. It's a vintage Lane dresser, probably 70's ish, in immaculate condition. I was impressed because usually there is somthing I have to fix on older pieces. I didn't have to do a thing. It's huge. It's the exact length of my 13 yr old son Tyson :-) But I know it weighs a lot more!! It's a beast. That's why you'll have to put up with these pix, cause I aint moven it again!! This is a grey/white color so the distressing really makes it pop. You want an elegant entry dresser??? This would definately do the job.

Antique Turquoise Accent Table
I Absolutely Love This!!!!! Imagine this in a bathroom with some fluffy white towels folded up on the bottom shelf. I wish I could have pictured it that way, but my bathroom is too small and my white towels aren't white ha ha.

Wire Burlap Lamp
Me and my fettish with lamps! Jeepers! I really can't help it ha ha. Oh well :-) I love totally changing their appearance. I think the reason I forget before pix is because I just get too excited about the project & dive right in. I remembered this one half way through. I had already painted it dangit! I stuck the glass back in for the pic ha ha. It's mostly wood, which makes a good redo.
Before............
After................
I actually had another lamp shade I was going to use but the style of it wasn't quite right after I put the wire in. I've been wanting to try a burlap shade anyway. Everything worked out pretty well I think. Not bad at all!! =)
